Mary B. Tosti, longtime resident of the Westside, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 21st in Springville, California. She was 98 years young.

Mrs. Tosti was born in Providence. Rhode Island. the daughter of Serafin and Brigida Silveira on February 7, 1921. she moved to California as a toddler and grew up in Santa Barbara County. She and her husband, Manuel Tosti, settled in the Westley-Vernalis area, where they raised their three children. She was employed at Patterson Frozen Foods for 20 years. Mrs. Tosti was active in Rising Sun Elementary School Mother's Club while her children were students there. She was also active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Patterson F.D.E.S., and volunteered at the Saint Anthony Thrift Store in Patterson for many years.

Mrs. Tosti wil be remembered for her ready smile, perennially sunny disposition, and her wish always to be of service to the people around her.

Mrs. Tosti was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Tosti. She leaves her children: Barbara Knypstra of Redlands, Evelyn Catano of Springville, and George Tosti of Everett, WA. Six grandchildren; Melanie Knypstra, Kevin Knypstra, John Catano, Anna Plumly, Frances Tosti, and Serena Tosti. Two great-grandchildren: Geneva Tilden and Banner Plumly.

A Memorial in celebration of her long and blessed life will be held Tuesday, May 14th at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I Street Patterson. Graveside Service will be Friday, May 17th at 10:00 at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, Lompoc, California.
