A masked man with a handgun robbed M&S Mini Market Sunday evening Nov. 23 at 9:04 p.m. in the True Value Shopping Center at 1010 West Las Palmas Ave.
The heavy set male was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and brandished the weapon before taking off with an undisclosed amount of money according to sergeants with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department’s Patterson Police Services.
The man was seen bumping into a customer that was leaving the store as he entered on foot, and he again bumped another customer on their way in as he was seen leaving the store on foot.
No leads in the case were made after reviewing the surveilance video, though detectives are in the early stages of working on the case.
Sundays’ armed robbery follows an armed robbery that occurred at 9:04 p.m. a week prior on Friday Nov. 14 at Walmart.
Just two storeftonts down from M&S Market, 13 windows from the former Chillaberries business were shot out, causing extensive damage that warranted the property manager to have to board up some of the busted out windows Monday evening, Nov. 24.
Earlier in the year, one of the windows had been shot at and broken, and the most recent incident left most of the north-facing windows broken, prompting Patterson Fire Divison Chief of Operations Jeff Breasher to do an inspection.
The True Value shopping center property manager figured someone with a pellet gun shot the windows out.
Anyone with information on these incidents is encouraged to call Patterson Police Services at 892-5071.
