Editor,

It’s election time. Our freedom to vote is not free – and it’s easy to take for granted. Then, we’re in danger of losing it.

We are blessed to live in a small town where individuals, regular citizens, can participate and make a difference. However, the new unnecessary and divisive system of City Council “district” elections has already stripped us of 80% of our right to vote for our own City Council. And we very nearly lost our right to vote for mayor!

Our freedom must be protected. And our local elections must be protected from the out-of-control national political madness and special interests.

I will vote against every candidate for local city or county office, who brings political party affiliation or party sewage from the Washington septic tank into our local elections. And I urge all voters to do the same.

Let’s keep the dirty games politicians play out of our city.
