Virginia Rose Turner Pociengel, 91, Patterson, CA, a former resident of River Falls, Wis, died on June 25, 2019.

Born November 21, 1927 in Marshall, Ill, she wore many hats throughout her years which included being a taxi cab driver in N.Y. to waitressing in San Diego. She loved gardening, canning, riding her Honda motorcycle as well as writing poems which some were published in Washington D.C. She had a love for travel and even had a CB handle name, roadrunner. She was also a member of the Patterson Church of Christ.

She married William Walter Pociengel of Yonkers, N.Y on August 11, 1950.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Gunnery Sergeant William Walter Pociengel of River Falls, Wis, son Kenneth Allen Sr. and daughter Tanya (Pociengel) McBride of Williamstown, N.J.

Survivors include her five children - William (Jean) Pociengel, River Falls, Wis.; Kathryn Barnes, Patterson, CA.; Kim (Jim) Puckett, Whitefish, MT.; Robyn (Bilsing), Yocum, Pitman, N.J. and Kimberlee Pociengel, Patterson, CA as well as 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in Patterson, CA and internment at Fort Snelling Cemetery, MN at a future date. The body of the deceased was donated for medical research to Stanford University. In lieu of flowers, the family would love donations sent to either Dementia Society of America or National Hospice Foundation.
