Services will be Saturday in Oakland for Bertha Noble, 78, a 20-year Tracy resident and member of Agape Missionary Baptist Church. She died unexpectedly Dec. 3.

Mrs. Noble, a native of Mer Rouge, La., graduated from Morehouse High School and married Lonnie Lee Thaxton Sr. She later moved to California and married David Noble in 1978.

She was a longtime member of Saints’ Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland before joining Agape in Tracy.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, David Noble of Tracy; three sons, Melvin Thaxton, and his wife, Tracie, Michael Thaxton, and his wife, Norma, and Kenny Thaxton, and his wife, Vida, all of San Leandro; nine grandchildren ; and a host of great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives.

One grandchild preceded her in death.

Saturday’s memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. at Saints’ Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1401 57th Ave., in Oakland.
