Services will be Thursday for Betty Langley-Woodard, 68, a graduate of Tracy Joint Union High School, who died Jan. 7 in Newport News, Va.
Mrs. Langley-Woodard was born in New Iberia, La., and moved to Tracy at age 14. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church (now Tracy Community Church) and Valley Ministries MCC of Stockton. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, reading and weekend drives around Northern California.
She moved to Virginia in 2009 with her daughter Carrie Woodard to be closer to her daughter Thawny Soto. Both daughters took care of Mrs. Langley-Woodard during the last year of her life.
Mrs. Langley-Woodard is survived by three children, Shawn Soto of Ontario, Ore., Thawny Soto of Virginia Beach, Va., and Carrie Woodard of Newport News; two stepchildren, Gerald Woodard Jr. of Tracy and Beverly Woodard of Stockton; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Jack Langley, and his wife, Vina, of Jennings, La., and their two children.
Preceding her in death were two husbands, Gerald Woodard Sr. and David Soto; and her parents, Annie Laura Witherwax and Alcede Langley.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road, where she will be laid to rest alongside Mr. Woodard.
