Graveside services with honors will be Jan. 8 for John M. Kitchen, 58, a pianist at First Baptist Church, who died Dec. 21 at his home after a long illness.

Mr. Kitchen, a native of Louisville, Ky., had lived in Tracy for 51 years and served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1970s. He was a parishioner of First Baptist Church for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Carol Brown of Stockton; three stepchildren, Tamara Lotman of Modesto, David Brown of Stockton and Daniel Brown, and his wife, Christina, of Ceres; a brother, Joseph Kitchen, and his wife, Cheryl, of Clovis; a sister, Julia Thomas, and her life partner, Colleen Forrestal, of Citrus Heights; and seven step-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph M. and Martha Kitchen.

Services on Jan. 8 will begin at 12:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road, in Santa Nella. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.
