Runners could anticipate the sweet taste of victory as hundreds of doughnuts waited for them at the end of the third annual Donut Dash 5K run benefiting the Tracy Police Activities League.

The 3.1-mile race Saturday morning kicked off from Thoming Park on Cambridge Place, heading north on Sycamore Parkway to Schulte Road and then south on Tracy Boulevard to Central Avenue to loop back to the park.

More than 350 participants ran or walked the course, receiving a medal and doughnuts at the finish line.

Preliminary results posted online show Terry Curtin of Walnut Creek as the first finisher, running the race in 15 minutes, 56 seconds.

Jaclyn Hepler of Tracy, the fifth overall finisher, was the first woman to cross the finish line with a time of 23:09.

The Donut Dash is the biggest fundraiser for the Tracy PAL and supports programs including the boxing and running clubs.
