Costs keep rising; political support keeps eroding. If you think I’m talking about the California high-speed rail system, we’re right on target.

A week ago, we heard that one of the bullet train’s upcoming projects, building the 119-mile segment from Wasco north to Chowchilla, is facing a major cost increase — from $6 billion to $10.6 billion.
