The development of Mountain House’s future downtown means the local library will be closed for nearly three months, but weekly Bookmobile visits will help families keep up with their reading.
Road construction on Main Street will keep the library at 250 E. Main St. closed from Saturday, June 15, through Sept. 6.
During the closure, the Bookmobile, a traveling branch library carrying a selection of books and magazines for all ages, will stop outside the Mountain House Community Services District building, 230 Sterling Drive, Ste. 100, from 10-11 a.m. every Tuesday. Library cardholders can check out materials for four weeks at a time, and materials checked out from the Bookmobile can be returned to any Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library branch.
Mountain House residents can also visit any other library branch, including the Tracy Branch Library at 20 E. Eaton Ave. Hours and other information can be found on the library website, www.ssjcpl.org.
Library programs, including story time for babies and preschoolers, will continue through the summer in an alternate location. Librarian Kathleen Buffleben said that the location for programs will be posted as soon as it is decided on the Mountain House Branch page of the library website.
